The use of bio-based materials for solar cell materials have helped to cut the cost of making solar panels to get cheaper solar module on the commercial markets. The pioneer company of manufacture bio-based material solar cells, BioSolar, has sales rep agreement with Korean based company, ShinHa, which represent large Asian solar panel manufacturers and targeting the North American solar market.
The technology of bio-based solar cell materials are using renewable plant sources to make low cost of photovoltaic (PV) solar modules. The renewable plant sources are using to replace petroleum-based plastic solar cell materials with durable bio-based materials. The technology has also received USDA Bio-preferred certification.
The silicon solar panel prices continue to decline as a result of policies by the state for the development of the use of solar power. Even in the last two years, it's has dropped by 50 percent because of supply over demand.
Although not a major solar panel makers, the PV solar panel manufacturers in the U.S. still working to advance their solar technology and manufacturing strategies for Asia market especially. According to the research, the North America predicted to be the fastest growing solar panels market for next five years.
