UAE Solar Energy Desalination Plant for Friendly Results

UAE is the country that must meet the water needs with the desalination of sea water. They are currently testing the use of solar energy to run a desalination plant to reduce the adverse effects of carbon from fossil fuel use.

Seawater desalination processes using fossil fuels which until now carried out by countries such as UAE and Saudi Arabia has felt impacts which is not good for the environment in the desert and no small cost to run it. The use of solar energy to run a desalination plant expected to provide a more environmentally friendly and save on operating costs.

As the pilot sites and the trial operation of solar desalination plant is located in Hameem and Sweihan districts of UAE. The units are expected to produce energy up to 1050 kilo-watt/hour.

At present problem to be solved is the residue treatment from desalination plant which thrown back into the sea and make the sea water salinity is higher. This can endanger the ecosystem in the sea. As an example of the current Persian Gulf has become more salty due to the process of desalination. It also gives concern for neighboring countries like Kuwait.
