How much is a solar panel installations cost in 2012? Is still continues to down or otherwise? The company SunRun residential solar energy has a look at what we can expect the solar industry in 2012. According to SunRun, the adoption among consumers in general will grow as prices continue to fall. At the same time, the industry will see significant consolidation and durable. Here is a list of predictions for 2012 SunRun for solar energy:
Solar power is even cheaper: the cost of installing solar energy has been reduced by 30 percent last year and price declines will continue. The module prices could fall 20% in late 2012, becoming more energy available for families.
A Year of Darwin: industry consolidation is inevitable in 2012, is the likely disappearance of an oversupply pushing manufacturers to reduce prices. Although difficult, this consolidation will mark the industry leaders last.
Solar lease on the cash purchase: How do people learn that you can install solar on the roof without having to buy the panels, you will. This option, known as the solar service or lease solar, was almost 60 percent of the solar energy market in California in late 2011 and allows families to secure lower electricity rates.
Solar power for the middle class: The analysis shows that middle-class neighborhoods are increasingly adopt solar energy, which will continue in 2012. The trend is driven largely by solar energy services companies that help consumers in general to put solar panels on their roofs without a significant initial cost.
Rationalization brings a lot of money for communities: low-cost improvements in solar processes, such as allowing you to add billions of dollars into the local economy, reducing the cost of installing solar energy by 25% in 2012, creating jobs in thousands local communities.
Advances in technology in addition to the panels: Advances in solar technologies make solar design and implementation easier and more economical. Along with the declining costs of solar panels, support for these technologies make solar energy more affordable and scalable.

Solar Millennium is bankrupt
Fund Iberosol already closed
The Erlanger project developer Solar Millennium is the Fürth District Court to file for bankruptcy. The postponement of payments for the delivered projects in the U.S. until next year can not sustain the company. Now the major project Iberosol in Spain is on the line.
Solar Millennium, of Erlangen, Fürth District Court is a petition to open insolvency proceedings. After the Erlanger project developer wanted to sell its entire pipeline project in the U.S. solar hybrid, it was rumored already that the company will probably not hold out long. For months, the Erlanger struggling for survival since October and was barely out of the negative headlines. The controversy of Ex-Executive Utz Claassen for damages and the resignation of company founder Hannes Kuhn did the rest. On the stock market slide of the stock of Solar Millennium last from 1.10 € to 45 cents.
Among the hybrid of solar projects in the Sauerland Brilon votes is also the object of prestige in Blythe in the California desert. Originally planned as a parabolic trough power plant, Solar decided to implement Millennium mid-August the first half of the one-gigawatt power plant with photovoltaic. On the grounds that it wanted to concentrate on its core business of parabolic trough and hybrid power plants in Asia, Europe, North Africa and Latin America, they wanted to make the projects in the U.S. at the Sauerland, but remain involved in the project development.
Hole in the fund not to cram
The negotiations between the two German companies on business in the U.S. pull out now already since the beginning of September this year. Although "the greatest possible extent there is agreement on the transaction; major contracts were signed. However, certain conditions for the validity of contracts not yet occurred, "it said in a press release by Solar Millennium. That was until recently one disagreed on the amount and timing of payments on hybrid solar Solar Millennium. The Sauerland wanted the transfer until the next year working, what tears at Solar Millennium a hole in the cash that you can not cram in Franconia as fast.
No investors for Iberosol
Moreover, the Erlanger were no investors after intensive negotiations for entry into the parabolic trough project Iberosol win in Spain. Now this major project is on the line. Already with effect from 20 December is a precaution, the public has issued funds to finance Iberosol closed. It remains unclear however, what happens to the money already paid.
"Both transactions have on the current liquidity requirements also generate funds that would have laid the foundation for further development of society," reads the statement at the opening of insolvency proceedings. "In an effort to obtain for shareholders and creditors existing values, the institutions of society found themselves forced to take this step."

Solar panels on the same land and crops
Sacrificing fertile land for the production of energy from solar photovoltaic, or reserve them always to agriculture? This question, frequently raised, is now an alternative answer: If you install grid panels to five meters in height, it can produce energy and grow on the same ground. This is the idea behind agrovoltaico, technology that has just seen the light in the Po Valley.
In April 2010, Carlo Petrini, founder of Slow Food, in an article in La Repubblica newspaper expressed its concern over the rise of photovoltaic panels on farmland: "With huge expanses of solar panels lose the underlying soil permeability, the activity Biological tend to die resulting in desertification decreed that infertility and increase the danger of floods. " It followed, therefore, only an invitation to install the panels on the roofs and reserve the fertile soil for agriculture.
Some Italian businesses have, however, thought that the two could be reconciled: if you install solar panels to a sufficient height above the ground and it does so only partially to shade the ground so that it receives direct sunlight, however, can be grown under the panels. Consequently fertile areas could be exploited for the production of energy from solar photovoltaics without removing them from agriculture.
This led to the'agrovoltaico ': the first farm to make use of this innovative solution has been recently inaugurated near Mantua (a chapel, in the municipality of Virgil). Following this, three other pilot plant (installed in the provinces of Piacenza and Mantua) were put into operation or are about to do. Overall they cover an area of approximately 55 hectares and the total installed peak power is 10 MW.
Groups of photovoltaic panels are supported at about 5 feet off the ground by sturdy poles, which are the so-called "axis solar trackers", which communicate among themselves and with the control system via wireless, or wireless connection. Thanks to these trackers (also known as trackers, ie trackers), the panels change throughout the day orientation in order to follow the position of the sun and maximize their yield.
To provide direct illumination to the ground below, the stakes are placed at a distance of twelve feet apart and the panels are placed so that only 15% shade.
The height of the supports to allow farm vehicles to pass without any problem, if necessary, however, the panels can be arranged parallel to the ground in order to facilitate the movement and activity. The panels can also rotate to ask completely perpendicular to the ground when appropriate, in case of rain, and - above all - of snow.
The first company 'agrovoltaica', Chapel of the Vostok, employs 750 8 000 solar trackers and panels, spread over an area of 15 hectares. The total installed capacity is 2.15 MW.
"The plant was built in May and the first harvest in June, was an easy crop, forage or miles - Sarah Belladelli states, with an associate engineer, architect, Robert Meadows, has decided to give life to this Maybe the new business and agriculture -. The ground was uneven due to the installation, so with this first crop we have reclaimed the land, from next season organic farmers, especially salads, fruits, herbs and aromatic. "
The plant was designed and produced by REM (Energy Revolution Maker), which is based industrial holding company in the province of Brescia was founded in 2008 by a group of six historic Italian companies interested in entering the international level as producers of systems for generating energy, which did use of sustainable technologies and zero-emissive.
"When we joined forces in REM - the president says Roberto corners - we had a clear idea of investing in renewable technologies best, provided they were environmentally friendly and emit no greenhouse gases." A multidisciplinary group has worked for 18 months looking at various options, finally choosing to focus on this unique symbiosis of agriculture and photovoltaics, which optimizes the use of the territory, ensuring the production of energy crops and the livelihood of the company.
REM has already filed for international patents and gained strong experience in the four pilot plants, the company is to carry out more ambitious projects, such as a well-100MW plant.
Though the concept is ingenious, and its successful implementation, the concerns about it are not few. First comes the question of aesthetics: many argue that tracts of solar panels to five meters in height fields are not a good show and ruin the rural landscape.
Following the question about the quality of products grown in square meters of photovoltaic systems. "Personally, I never cultivate vegetables and other edible crops, but only flowers - says Daniele Toniolo, president of the Venetian Italian Farmers Confederation (CIA) - vegetables need direct sunlight, the risk is that as you cultivate a emissions ".
In fact, in this regard, the filmmakers say that the level of shading is extremely small (about 15%) and that the support structures occupy very little space.
To give rise to further doubts contributes to the issue of electromagnetic fields that are generated around the panels. Of course, the devices are placed high enough, but as the risk that these fields interfere with the production process?
"Technically all you can do in Holland for years the tomatoes with aquaculture in the bath, but as the level of nutrition are those tomatoes?", That the comparison made by Maurizio Gritta, president of the cooperative organic farm Iris, which operates on 40 hectares of land in the Natural Park South Oglio, near Cremona. "Magnetic fields are not in accord with the biological products and crops in general - continues Gritta - we have our pasta factory located absorbers magnetic fields to avoid damage to cereals, because the revelations have shown that the machines they produce."
As always, hardly a technology can not solve a problem without creating others. The solution is still worthy of consideration and has already generated interest at the international level, so that EcoDelta, French photovoltaic important player since 2008, has partnered with REM to spread the agrovoltaico exclusively in France.

Solar panels cover in Sardinia a greenhouse
The largest park in the world serravoltaico produces fruit and vegetables, clean energy and jobs. Too bad that the technologies are Indian and American.
The basic idea is probably to achieve maximum incentives, suffering less impact in a rule that said that only 10% of the arable land of which they may have encumbered by solar panels. After the invention agrovoltaico, with solar panels placed at 5 meters in height on arable land, and is now the serravoltaico. In Sardinia, in Campidano, has just created the largest park in the world.
The panels do not sacrifice production. The plant is designed for growing quality fruit and vegetables, melon, watermelon, zucchini Roman, fennel, and pride, the fruits of love, or the pink berry high demand in the Netherlands. The solar greenhouse has been built on Scioffu Villasor, 25 km from Cagliari. Compared with oil-or coal-fired plants, allows significant energy savings: 25 thousand tons of CO2 and provides electricity to 10 thousand households in Sardinia. The large park photovoltaic sets a world record for size and power: 20MW in an area of 27 hectares, with 84 thousand solar panels in one field and 134 greenhouses.
The only slightly disappointing aspect of the technologies used and the main industrial players involved in the creation of the park are not Italian, but Indians and Americans. On this critical issue has recently given the new environment minister Corrado Clini, stressing that public incentives provided to renewable energy bill currently in the fourth should be reformulated to encourage domestic enterprises to compete on this front increasingly strategic .
The central green, in fact, was built with an investment of Euro-Indian 70milioni Moser Baer Clean Energy (Mbcel) in collaboration with the American giant General Electric (GE). The agricultural management is entrusted to the Twelve Energy involving five cooperatives and will consist of 90 new jobs. The coop will take care of the marketing and sale of products, guaranteeing a secure source of income.

Is solar energy renewable and why?
The answer for is solar energy renewable? yes it is. As it is known that solar power is a source of energy provided by nature continuous and never-ending although used without stopping. The use of solar energy today began ogled by many countries as an alternative renewable energy sources that are easier and prices began to affordable. To make sure the truth of question of is solar energy renewable is to use solar energy to be converted into electrical energy that can be utilized for various purposes and applications. Solar energy is converted into electrical energy using solar cells are assembled in a module or panel. In small applications, solar panels can usually be applied in the gadget as a battery charger.
Is solar energy renewable or are there any other renewable sources? In addition to solar power, wind power is also a renewable energy source that is always available at all times and particularly abundant in coastal areas or large place such as airfields and so on. Meanwhile, solar power is very abundant in areas that are rarely rain or water, hot and dry like in the desert. But for smaller applications, solar energy and wind energy can be applied in residential areas that support for the locations.
Is solar energy renewable and more safe than fossil energy? Renewable energy from solar energy is more safe than energy generated by fossil, because the fuel from fossil will left the carbon footprint causes green house effects. In addition, currently fossil supply is running low or limited due to its is non renewable energy material.
Is solar energy renewable and more cost efficient? Besides being a source of renewable energy, solar energy is now beginning to be reached with lower price due to cost declines and the various technologies being developed to obtain a more efficient solar cells with less expensive materials and can be recycled. Currently, there are variety of solar cell types such as thin solar cells, flexible solar panel and conventional solar modules.
Is solar energy renewable and is there an alternative to solar cells to harness solar power? Renewable solar energy can also be used to create heat or steam to drive an electric generator or electric turbine. This technology is called Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) or solar thermal and the system has been applied to the current largest solar tower in Florida. Solar thermal energy can also be used on the housing for heating water or heating system of the building. Is solar energy renewable? You already can concluded it now.

The 100-percent solar house
Completely without heating in winter and also their own four walls with 100 percent solar heat? Yes, there are actually solar houses.
To reach the sun-house idea, a very high solar fraction for domestic hot water and heating, has in recent years been more and more followers. Dozens of solar homes that derive at least 50 percent of its energy needs from solar power, were built in recent years. Some houses also reach 60, 70, even 80 percent solar fraction. And a few make the seemingly impossible: to reach 100 percent solar fraction, even in deepest winter.
Large memory for the harsh winter
To achieve such a result, the builder must invest massively but first in a very large collector area to refuel at all sufficient solar energy, the entire southern roof, preferably with a steeper slope, is just as sufficient. And secondly, of course, save a very large buffer memory to the trapped heat over a longer time. Pure solar houses need this solar tanks with tens of thousands of liters. Such tanks easily cost as much as a family car. In addition, a 100-percent solar house both the collector and the tank must be oversized. They must mathematically be able to provide significantly more solar than 100 percent coverage. Reason: even during an unusually long winter cold spells, it will have the homeowner warm.
Even in winter, solar use
By the way: Since even the giant tank of a solar house usually can not store the energy for a whole winter, the solar collectors during the cold season. They do, however, not reach the temperature level which is possible in the summer. Since the solar storage tank designed as a storage layer, the solar heating system still works: In the lower part of the memory is only moderately heated water, so that in this area by means of heat exchangers can also yield rather weak solar radiation can be stored. In the upper layers of the memory, it becomes increasingly warmer, here to bring the heat exchanger has a yield more vigorous sunshine. For the operation of the mandatory area for solar house heating reaches way because of the large radiating surface even temperature, so that even the weak winter sun can be used.
100 percent solar fraction: Not a new idea
Experimentalbauten First, the massive use of solar energy for heating purposes, there were already many decades ago. The first solar house in our latitudes, which corresponds to the currently valid ideas and the very fact requires no additional heating was built 20 years ago by solar pioneer Josef Jenni, Switzerland. It should then be proved that a pure solar house is technically possible. This house has three memory buffer with a total of 118,000 liters in volume and 84 square meters of collector area. This design proved to be considerably later than the way oversized: Today, single-family homes usually equipped with solar buffer stores 30,000-40,000 liters.
A cost-effective compromise for the 100-percent solar house that is near-solar house, which reached almost 100 percent solar fraction. A developer from Chemnitz has developed the Energy House 100, with the number 100 is a bit cheated: On average 95 percent solar coverage promised by the provider for his large between 100 to 190 square meters of house types, mostly with a 30,000-gallon storage and large collector with Southern exposure feature. In mild winters the houses come with normal use under circumstances of even alone with solar energy, for longer periods of cold weather with little sun jumps up a water-bearing stove that not only the room is where it is heated, but also in addition to the buffer memory.
For all solar houses is: You must be well insulated in order to work: A minimum of KfW Efficiency House-70 standard is required. These buildings come with 30 percent less heating energy than is legally required by the already stringent energy (EnEV). In addition to its large areas of glass facing south in order to ensure a passive use of solar energy.

These buildings come with 30 percent less heating energy than is legally required by the already stringent energy (EnEV). In addition to its large areas of glass facing south in order to ensure a passive use of solar energy.

The first solar ski lift in the world opens in Switzerland
In the remote of Grisons, Safiental this winter comes to a premiere. The first solar ski lift takes the world on its operation. Its stands above the small Walser village Tenna which 450 meters long and equipped with 82 "Solar Wings". Each of 100 pound Solar Wings equipped with three panels to support cables mounted several meters above the ski lift. They provide about 90,000 kilowatt hours of electricity, which are required for operating the lift around 25,000 kilowatt hours per year.
The excess energy goes into the public grid. The solar modules achieve a high efficiency, because they automatically turn to the sun. And large snowfall is no problem. The modules can be placed almost vertically, so that the snow falls. Although the lift is only 450 meters long, it opens up 4.5 km of groomed slopes. The 1.35 million francs solar ski lift was financed by the solar lift from its own resources, from donations from churches, organizations and private donors. The solar-lift will be officially opened on December 17 with a celebration. To celebrate the day, the lift can be used free of charge. The ski village of 110 souls-Tenna is also followed by 25 francs for a day pass to the very favorable.

Hungarian solar car prototype has 130 km / h top speed
The Hungarian government intends to convert all green transport and environmentally friendly. Because that goal, many scientists, engineers and designers to work on building a prototype that turned out to be wonderful.
The prototype uses a combination of solar energy through solar panels installed on the roof, electricity and gas. They created a propulsion system that produces amazing fuel economy of 65 km / l.
Thanks to solar panels, it stores enough energy to make short trips 15-30 miles away so completely echo. If you need to make a longer trip you can charge the battery of the electric motor.
The AUT has a capacity of three persons, the driver sits in the middle and the two passengers on the sides. The body is carbon fiber and the car weighs only 272 kg complete.
It has a top speed of 130 km / h, the company says it expects to begin producing and selling during 2012 so far has an estimated price of U.S. $ 20,000.

Solar Bridge Mocambinho Will Soon Open
The solar bridge over the river Poti will benefit about 100,000 people in the northern region of Teresina and shorten the distance between various neighborhoods. The project is the State Government, with investments that amount to $ 20 million. At 18h, a show open to the community mark the celebrations for the inauguration.
Standing demand of local residents, the Mocambinho Bridge, as it is known, directly benefiting 100,000 people from neighborhoods like Mocambinho, Buenos Aires, Anita Ferraz, Hagia Sophia, Stone Mole and Socopa.
It also serves the Residential Jacinta Andrade, the largest housing project under construction with funding from the Growth Acceleration Program (CAP), where they will live about 25 thousand people.
"The bridge was an immense and ancient dream of the whole northern area of Teresina now becomes reality. Will certainly bring a great development for our region, "acknowledges Jehovah Lopes, Chairman of the Residents of the Village Firmino Son II, also benefited from the work.
Built under the responsibility of the State Secretariat of Cities, the Bridge will have night lighting based on solar energy. We placed eight poles, each with a card that will capture energy during the day. At dusk, the lamps LED (Light Emitting Diode) will be automatically linked. Even on cloudy days the plates will be able to capture sunlight and use on rainy days the energy stored in batteries.
"In a world with growing energy needs, it is important to diversify the energy matrix and solar energy is expected to be the best alternative for regions that lie on the equator, such as Piauí," said Solano Merlong, state secretary of Cities. "The bridge is vital importance for this region, which has densely populated areas on both the North and the East side, with neighborhoods that are thriving," he said.

Solar energy helps speculators
Favored by lucrative government subsidies, the Czech market of photovoltaics is in full swing. Investors from around the world have clashed over whether to take advantage of this manna, little concerned about the ecological aspects, reports Mladá Fronta DNES.
A guaranteed investment at 100%, with an annual yield of 15%. A dream? No way! Thanks to these conditions that the Czech market of photovoltaics can attract investors from around the world. "Israel, Germany and the U.S. dominate the market," said Jaromir Rehàk, president of the Czech Photovoltaic Industry Association. French investors, directly supported by its government, is also installed in the Czech market.
Given the proliferation of speculative investments, the Czech government decided to reduce the price at which electricity companies are obliged to purchase energy for individuals and producers - more than double the value of electricity charged to customers. But the amendment that this low slow to be adopted by the Czech solar business remains today one of the most profitable in Europe. And this in spite of taking into account that the photovoltaic panels placed in the country are less efficient than the Spanish or the South of France, because there are fewer days of sunshine. And like France, Germany and Spain will soon have to download the purchase price of solar electricity, the Czech market should continue to be very advantageous.
"It's the ecology that motivates us, are the numbers"
Czech companies are essentially to ensure the construction of photovoltaic plants. Its leaders are not environmentalists, but financial managers: "I will not pretend that we are guided by ecological interests. We are particularly interested investors and we are just the numbers," admits Ondrej Valnicek, Global Solar society. However, the ecological sensitivity of governments is important for business because it is in itself a guarantee, at least in today's world, that the states will continue to support renewable energy. The photovoltaic business has also become a major provider of jobs in the Czech Republic. Indeed, the country is one of the most important suppliers of solar technology in the world.
Almost 2,000 people work for companies specialized in the production of photovoltaic panels. The research and development sector employs one hundred people and wholesalers of about 400. In total, it is considered that solar energy "employs" more than 4,000 people in the country. Martin is Director of Somar Schoot Solar, the Czech company that leads the photovoltaic sector: "The Spanish market, the second in Europe in terms of importance, has collapsed. The financial crisis put a brake on investment in major projects." But despite this, says it was convinced that the strong growth of solar energy has barely begun: "The European countries all have very ambitious objectives with respect to increasing renewable energy in the overall energy production."

Nazi bunker transformed into largest solar plant in Europe
It will be Europe's largest of its kind and will warm three thousand homes.
A huge bunker in the Nazi time of World War II, which was in Hamburg city, German, will be transformed into the largest solar power station in Europe.
The structure with a height of new floors, it is a concrete block, with walls over 4 feet thick.
During the war, served as a shelter to more than 30,000 people during the bombing and had anti-aircraft capable of firing 8,000 shells per minute.
Under the 'Daily Mail', the building is to be covered with solar panels that will provide heating to about three thousand homes. There are plans to install an on-site museum, a cafe terrace on the roof.

Earth may receive solar energy directly from space
The International Academy of Astronautics in Paris, released a study this week that says that it will be possible to install solar panels in orbit to power is sent directly to Earth within 30 years.
The survey data are encouraging because they indicate a way to generate electricity without causing too much environmental impact, since the sun is a great renewable energy source.
Even solar power is an old technology, the conversion into electricity is not an efficient enough to replace the common and most polluting sources. According to the study proposal, within the capacity to generate energy is much higher.
The project suggests that several satellites are fitted with huge solar panels, which in turn would be gradually sent to Earth orbit. Thus it formed a global system of power generation, able to provide electricity 24 hours a day with great efficiency.
For the plan to succeed and be sent to the energy consumption in the Earth would be passed on in the form of raiolaser or huge microwave antennas.
While structures on earth would receive the transmitted energy and make the storage and distribution. All this implies high costs, so it would take a lot of investment and government support. Until now, such assistance was not offered.

Solar and wind power for a house with 30 containers
Located in Canada, the stack of containers is being transformed into a large structure entirely self-sufficient. The architecture of 5,000 square meters belongs to Bill and Rosanne Glennon, who are reusing containers where 30 systems will be deployed to transform solar energy and wind energy into electricity and heat inside.
A solar panel electric generator and a solar wind power system will supply the electrical needs of the house while the heating is done by a solar thermal and wood. With up to open space for a garage, there are five bedrooms and a large room.
The rooms are all well divided, while the lower level will be buried to improve the energy performance, while structures that are outside of the house serve as a well that provides access to a series of rooms that are linked to solar and wind power equipment in order to reduce the visual impact of the house.

South America installed Its first CPV solar panel
SolFocus has opened in Enor Chile located in Santiago dependencies. The first solar panel in South America, with CPV (Concentrator Photovoltaic) able to concentrate more than 650 times sun energy at one point. It is able to making about 30% of light into electricity, almost double from a silicon panel which reaches 19%.
The initiative will serve as the basis for the panel installation of another pilot in Calama, which will aim to analyze the radiation and the operational cost of these technologies for extreme radiation and dust. Both systems together generate about 17.6 KW of power.
"The Future of Non-Conventional Renewable Energies is in the Norte Grande. There exists 75% of electricity generation based on coal and solar energy should be sustainable in that area, "said Rodrigo Sáez, general manager of Enor Chile.
The panel uses 20 parabolic mirrors that collect sunlight and photosensitive cells condense into highly efficient, and operates solar tracking and controlling its position to maximize energy production. It also continuously monitors the state of wind to avoid damage and is highly recyclable, since 95% of its components are made of glass and aluminum, which are immune to ultraviolet degradation over time.
"CPV technology has the ability to increase or decrease depending on each project, which is an important factor for dynamic energy needs of the Chilean industry," says Nancy Hartsoch, VP of Marketing of SolFocus. "It can also deliver cleaner energy and low cost to the industry," he adds.
Unlike a traditional panel which occupies five or six acres to generate 1 MW, photovoltaic panels require only 2.5 hectares to produce the same amount of energy, resulting in lower capital investment and less maintenance in time. Finally, it can be deployed on slopes and have up to four times the slope of a conventional one.

3M transparent solar windows to charge your gadgets
Slowly it seems that solar power is emerging and sometimes unexpected forms. In this case, 3M shows a new type of transparent solar panels that can attach to a window literally. The panels have an efficiency such as a square meter is capable of recharging the battery of a current smartphone while receiving sunlight.
The funny thing is that this changes the way we understand the traditional solar panels that until now were composed of large plates difficult to install in specific buildings. With such an invention would be literally invisible panels and open to the possibility of use in a home with an internal battery that is charged during the day, also seem much more simple to install.
The drawback of these panels is that they get 20% less energy than traditional solar panels, but at the sale price will be half. This is interesting, because like any new technology over time reducing the price just as it popularized its use. You can easily imagine the surface of a building covered with these transparent panels without making their presence converted into high walls or electric power generators smaller versions that you can incorporate in cars or as covers for laptops.
The most interesting is that 3M will just show the Japanese sample Ceatec few days ago, but will be available commercially in a few months

New Jersey, a leading U.S. solar
In the USA a disused landfill is to be converted and used as an area where they will be installed photovoltaic solar modules 12.506. The new plant, built in New Jersey, will have an installed capacity of 3 MW - for a total value of $ 18 million - increasing the prestige of the state energy, the national leader in the exploitation of solar energy for power generation at low carbon emissions. New Jersey has in fact recently passed in California in terms of MW installed climbing to first place in the U.S. solar market.
The area, 13 acres, will become operational by the end of the year thanks to the collaboration between the SunDurance Energy that will take care of the supply module and the PSE & G will manage the plant. "The unused resources such as contaminated soil areas for the production of renewable solar energy and the increase in employment in the sector are a key component of this administration whose agenda includes important energy projects in the country's economic future," said Governor Kim gain the commitment adding that green energy in New Jersey is providing 430 MW of installed power.

World's largest solar bridge in London under construction
It will be the symbol of sustainable mobility and environmentally friendly in the heart of one of the most important cities on the planet is the Blackfriars Bridge in London as it prepares to become the largest bridge in the world calendar. They are in fact just begun work on installing more than 4,400 panels, capable of generating electricity equal to 900,000 kWh annually.
It 'was one of the landmarks of Victorian London and industrial in 1886 was built Blackfriars Bridge, which gives its name to the adjoining station, an important railway through the city.
Continue to be a key site of urban mobility in the coming years, thanks to Network Rail project which aims to improve the conditions of some major London stations, as indeed that of the Blackfriars, also increasing energy efficiency. "We are building a large modern station" Vamplew said Lindsay, director of works for Network Rail, "The bridge of Blackfriars station is part of our history: built in the age of steam, we are bringing up with the twenty-first century with Solar technology, to create a station that becomes an icon for the city. "
A symbol that will bear witness to the people, even more, the important role of alternative energy: "See that solar energy is working," said Derry Newman, chief executive of Solarcentury, the UK company that is performing the work, " is an important step towards a future of clean energy. "
Besides the use of solar panels, the London station will be equipped with other means of producing sustainable energy, as a recovery for the installation of rainwater or solar chimneys that will allow better light, with natural sources , of the station. Thanks to the energy thus produced, it is expected that the station will be able to self-sustaining with renewable sources for 50% of its total energy consumption.
The end of the meeting is scheduled for spring of 2012: To this date, the 6,000 square meters of photovoltaic panels will be installed now and will enable a saving of 511 tonnes CO2 per year.
But the London Bridge is not the only virtuous example of the old continent, in June 2011, Europe has seen the installation of 16,000 solar panels also on top of a railway tunnel in Belgium, the stretch of high-speed line between Antwerp and Amsterdam.

Photovoltaics: plants tripled in the province of Varese
On the roofs of houses and businesses there are more than 3,600. This is what emerged during a workshop organized at the headquarters of the Industrial Union of Gallarate from Young Entrepreneurs
"Photovoltaics: the fourth energy bill" is the title of which represented the second round of review of the workshop "Energy: let's talk." Purpose: To provide practical advice to businesses, immediately usable within the organization to increase the energy efficiency of production sites. A sort of guide to the best investments, including the solar energy.
The PV is now a choice to be taken into account at least for its potential, those able to release the companies from the swing in energy prices in the markets. The sun is a source not subject to speculation. And it's only for this opportunity, given the turbulence that live in this period markets. So from an investment screening, although it is not in itself inescapable: we talked about this during the workshop.
However, it was stressed that the exponential growth of the plants on the roofs of houses and Italian companies is favored by the strong policy incentives. An increase that Varese is no exception. On the contrary. In the province, according to data from the Energy Services Manager of GSE-spa, there are 3,623 plants with a total power equal to just over 63,500 kW. Only a year and a half ago, in March of 2010, there were 890 for a total of 8,600 kW.
Few other industries can boast such a growth. Between 2009 and 2010 witnessed a growth of plants and energy produced around 200%. In this scenario Lombardy stands out as one of the regions where the sun is gone: the highest number of power plants, and second, behind only to Apulia. In this scenario, the Lombard rate at high PV, Varese emerges as one of the provinces loyal to the solar option.
Positive experience the meeting to provide information on the Fourth in tariff that governs the current policy of incentives to photovoltaics, the institutions involved, on the necessary technical and administrative requirements, the economic evaluations to be done before choosing whether to invest or not this type of energy source.

Photovoltaic energy bill, comes the equalization?
The decree Development sprouting changes the incentives for photovoltaics. It introduces the "equalization", ie the idea of establishing rates of the energy bill less generous in areas with higher solar radiation compared to areas with less sun. Yet another unwelcome surprise for the industry, but perhaps did not materialize.
No peace for the world of photovoltaics. The utime shake is called "equalization" and - according to the Sun 24 hours today - would be in Article 47 of the draft Decree of the Ministry of Development exam yesterday afternoon led by Paul Romans.
After the proposal of the amnesty for renewable installations made by the Minister Romano and Xavier, who opposed a while 'from every front, it seems directed to the provision (Qualenergia.it, an amnesty for renewable energy systems), here is another new . A measure that provides a smoothing, in fact, the incentives for solar photovoltaics, which is a reformulation of the energy bill rates by sunlight and therefore the yields of plants, substantially higher than the south. Pressing the most plants in areas where the sun is less generous for tariff reduction in the sunniest areas, where grid parity is closer. As stated in the draft decree, reported by Sole24Ore, "for the achievement of national targets for the development of renewable sources and greater efficiency in the energy sector, the tariffs on the production of electricity produced by solar photovoltaic, fixed by decrees of the legislative decree of 29 December 2003, no 387, a corrective equalization is applied, a decree of the Minister of Economic Development, in consultation with the Minister of Environment and Protection of Land and Sea, connected to degree-day climatic zones listed in Annex A to the DPR 26 August 1993, Ranked # 412, as amended, in order to standardize the value of `incentive throughout the national territory." The suspicion is that equalization is hidden behind a substantial reduction of incentives: namely, that you want to maintain the current incentives in the North, to reduce them gradually moving towards areas with greater sunlight. Behind the measure would seem to reappear the will of the League of further cuts to photovoltaics - seen as a burden on the bill - which was solidified in the last financial proposal, then aborted, a dry cut of 30% to all charges on the bill, including those which are taken the money to support renewables.
The idea of equalization is pleased the 'Energy Committee' of Confindustria, which also pawing every other day for cuts in incentives for renewables, "all for" Augustine said he was now Earl, vice president of the Committee, on the sidelines of a hearing the Environment Committee. But the Ministry of Economic Development but the idea does not seem to collect the same consensus: for example, disagrees with the idea Undersecretary of the Ministry with responsibility for energy, Stefano Saglia, "makes no sense to encourage more where plants produce less" said in public today. Perhaps, like so many other threats to the sources that we have seen in recent months, the idea will remain unrealized. On the phone with Qualenergia.it, Valerio Christmas, President of the GIFI, the association Confindustria is the idea of photovoltaics: "For now we do not have an inkling that the proposal can become reality, it seems yet another proposal for someone not connected to will of the Ministry, "he explains. As the measure itself says: "I will not even discuss the merits of equalization. Unless you change the better. Such a measure can only create uncertainty, the opposite of what is useful to industry. In recent months it seems that every day instead seems to arrive a proposal for change. " In summary this eternal pursuit to change legislation has emerged in our recent article "The lack of governance of renewable energy and efficiency" of 10 October.
More explicit Massimo Daniele Sapienza, president of Ace Energy Future, "We are tired of being at the mercy of socks every day investing ideas renewables. Look at this week - says Wisdom - before the incredible idea of a moratorium, then the absurdity of the amnesty and now check equalization for incentives, and received a proposal from the League for a long time, it would seem, in the decree Development. The only certain result of this uproar is the relentless' are thrown into uncertainty in which operators, enterprises and families who have chosen Photovoltaics ". Here are the fruits, probably not random, this policy of destabilization. "

The voice of global solar thermal power
Pending that the main organizations of the United States, India and the MENA regions participating, STELAWorld has already prepared the action plan: through its members promote the exchange of data and information from industry, research agencies , academic institutions and government agencies around the world for the production of solar thermal energy. "This helps our solar thermal electric systems to integrate a larger amount of more intermittent renewable sources, like wind and photovoltaics, with the ability to store energy and release it when you need it most," said Luis Crespo President of ESTELA. "This technology can greatly reduce, and in time eliminate the need for a backup made from fossil fuels to renewable sources discontinuous. Moreover, new technologies allow the transmission of electricity even in regions without ideal solar conditions, such as the United Kingdom and Northern Europe, using the thermodynamic energy produced from rich countries such as Spain and only Morocco ".

39 solar cars race across Australia
They left this weekend from Darwin, Australia, the 39 cars that are challenging for the World Solar Challenge Veolia, the most 'famous race regularity' for solar-powered vehicles. Built by a team of researchers from 21 countries worldwide and with a power comparable to that of a toaster, the prototypes have to travel 3,021 kilometers to the finish line in Adelaide.
The race is held every two years and the main purpose and 'not so much to achieve the maximum speed', the maximum efficiency, which is the lowest power consumption possible, through slight body shapes and unusual, experimental photovoltaic devices, and advanced technological . At the time, and 'leading the crew of the Tokai University, followed by the University' of Michigan and the Dutch Nuon Solar Team.

Mainly solar energy?
A solar system, the missile? With the help of sensors always in the most effective angle of the sun, there are many places already. But on the flat roof of a residential and commercial building in Neuchâtel, since it would be a precedent. And to avoid this first, the decision was deferred over an appropriate planning application to the Committee on Environment and Technology recently.
It was the second meeting in which the Committee has considered this planning application. Specifically, the applicant is proposing to install on a new building in the street Ensisheim a mobile photovoltaic system - it would be six feet wide and three meters high. With its 18 square meters, the movable solar element would not project beyond a building plan of Probable gable or hip roof, because it should be placed on a flat roof. But this is after the development plan is not just permitted. Therefore, in the meantime had proposed collective Christian city planner to put the solar system at a rear portion and to leave it to the street in the conventional pitched roof.

Sun seeks solar module
Renewable energies are in high demand. The resources of fossil fuels are finite. And events such as the nuclear accident in Fukushima contribute to the population that uses the new thinking on energy. Many people already use geothermal energy for heating or solar energy to heat water.
But with the sun can produce not only heat but also electricity. This requires PV systems that are installed on roofs or on walls. Photovoltaic is a technology that turns sunlight into electricity. Many homeowners who feed the electricity produced in this way already in the public power grid. The larger the area the more lucrative is this kind of energy. Roofs of companies or schools to be about small power plants and ensure the operator of the facility over 20 years, a fixed amount per kilowatt hour. But first must be invested.
This is where the solar market: To bring together the owners of large roof surfaces on buildings and factories with investors, the community Neunkirchen is now equipped with a solar stock market went into the virtual network. Under www.neunkirchen-siegerland.de the owners of these properties the opportunity to make their space on the Internet for prospective transparent. Investors can review the bids come in contact with the owner and lease the land. The solar market is a free mediation platform, the interface of owners and investors.
To adjust the solar roofs can exchange, certain prerequisites required: For pitched roofs the space required is at least 100 square feet, with flat roofs at least 300 All interested parties can obtain information on the website about the conditions, subsidies and allowances. The two contact Michael Hester and Matthias Jung inform all investors like to see how they can interact with the provider. All regional specialist firms are invited to register in the solar market.

High efficiency of nanoparticle-based organic solar cells
Scientists from the Institute for Microsystem Technology (IMTEK) and the Freiburg Materials Research Center (FMF), University of Freiburg has managed to develop a method for treating the surface of nanoparticles, which significantly increases the efficiency of organic solar cells. Through the use of so-called quantum dots made of cadmium selenide could produce the scientists and researchers the highest-ever efficiency of 2 percent in hybrid solar cells by measurements of the FMF settled Working Group "Dye and Organic Solar Cells" at Fraunhofer Institute for Solar energy systems has been confirmed. Previous values were 1 to 1.8 percent. For hybrid solar cells have the photoactive layer of a mixture of inorganic nanoparticles and an (organic) polymer. The developed method is applicable in principle to many nanoparticles and opens up further opportunities for increasing efficiency of this type of solar cell. The process was patented and the results were published in a recent issue of the prestigious journal of applied physics, "Applied Physics Letters".
Organic solar cells belong to the so-called third generation of solar cells and are still in research stage. The world record for purely organic solar cells, which are both components of the photoactive layer of organic materials, is currently at 7 percent for wet chemically produced films. In contrast to conventional silicon solar cells, which are mainly used for large-scale power generation, they have many advantages: they are much thinner and more flexible. The key advantage is its low cost and fast production. Therefore, they are better suited for integration into applications and systems in our everyday life with a limited duration, such as sensors or electronic devices in order to operate them energy self-sufficient. The use of batteries and wires could thus be drastically reduced in the future.
The team of researchers, chemists, physicists and engineers of the IMTEK and FMF closely together. "The interdisciplinary nature of the research group was an absolute godsend and has led to rapid progress in the project. So we could afford the synthesis of nanoparticles by modifying their surface and integration into composite materials, all from one source," says Group leader Dr. Michael Kruger. His group "Nanosciences" is part of the Chair for Sensors by Prof. Dr. Gerald Urban IMTEK. Based on the published results of his team is working - even in the framework of a Federal Ministry for Education and Research funded joint project - working to expand the proven method to other promising materials systems and thus to go on their way to market one step further. Preconditions are significantly more efficient than before, further increasing the durability of the materials and the reduction of manufacturing costs.
The project "Quantum Dot Polymer Hybrids as photoactive material in solar cells," is funded by the IMTEK Graduiertenkolleg "Micro Energy Harvesting" by the German Research Society.
Suspicion of insider trading at Solar Millennium
Only 74 days was Utz Claassen, the former head of the energy group EnBW, working as CEO of Solar Millennium. Still, he conceded nine million euros signing bonus. In connection with this short engagement, the prosecutor has now begun preliminary investigations into suspected insider trading: The company founder to have bought shares before Claassens took care obligation for a price jump.
It was mid-June 2011, and in the California desert, the boss himself shoveling. Christoph Wolff, CEO of Solar Millennium AG Frankish, laid on with U.S. political celebrities hand. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar had even flown in from Washington. California's Governor Jerry Brown came to Blythe, a provincial town 350 km east of Los Angeles. "A milestone in the history books," Wolff had cheered weeks in advance.
Spade with the obligatory construction on the largest solar power plant has been celebrated ever, a mega-project, by Solar Millennium wants to lift. Around two billion euros will cost the plant in Blythe and deliver twice as much electricity as a nuclear power plant. Almost everywhere on Earth could solve energy power stations by Solar Millennium problems, one is confident in the company headquarters in Erlanger. But while the company wants to conquer the world, it gets more and more at home in a vortex of highly unpleasant investigations and legal disputes.
Since the spring of the Nuremberg prosecutors on suspicion of going against the Supervisory Board of Solar company for serious breach of trust and massive violations of company law, according to (Az 505 Js 638/11). Claassen, it is about many millions of euros, Utz, has collected the ex-boss of energy giant EnBW, for only 74 days' work as CEO of Solar Millennium. Now there appears a new heavy suspicion: It is about possible insider trading of Solar Millennium's shares. Again, there is a connection with Claassens give commitment.
Puzzling Equity Transactions
According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the German stock market regulator has turned. "The BaFin is currently under a formal investigation of alleged insider trading in shares of Solar Millennium AG," said a spokeswoman for the authority of the SZ. The Nuremberg prosecutors examined in turn as part of preliminary investigations, whether there is evidence for a formal investigation. After SZ-information is about a mysterious equities business of the company founder and board Hannes Kuhn. He wanted to make and Solar Millennium to requests not available.
Had an ad-hoc release news release and Solar Millennium on 15 December 2009, a spectacular new signing celebration, which made the unknown medium-sized businesses virtually overnight dazzling Star Manager Utz Claassen took over the helm in Erlangen. This seemed to the great vision of the company with its several hundred employees to fit. Climate change, economic crisis, energy shortages - Solar Millennium help you, so the message, Blythe should be just the beginning. "We are developing the future," said the company slogan. Small as it gets.
Now brings the past the Franks. A shareholder of the company rises after SZ-information is very specific and detailed allegations against the founder and supervisory board Kuhn - which has now alerted the BaFin. A few weeks before the announcement of the coup-Claassen to Kuhn, who will still hold about 15 percent of the shares of Solar Millennium, in hindsight, questionable business have invested. The ads on SEC and prosecutors is a forward contract to Kuhn's 150,000 Solar Millennium's shares in November 2009 speech. Claassens and a commitment by resulting price jump had been foreseen at the time already, so the accusation of the shareholder. Especially since Kuhn himself has allegedly tried several times with Claassen.
In fact, the news caused by recruit for euphoria among investors. Those who bought in November 2009 shares could, after the commitment to achieve gains of 20 to 50 percent.
What's behind the mysterious deal? How he deals with corporate governance rules tolerate, wanted to know already critical shareholders at the AGM in May by the Executive Board and Supervisory Board. Whether price-sensitive information were not yet known, said another shareholder. The use of insider knowledge on stock exchange transactions is punishable by law. Also by the new board with a "special informal" instructed law firm Skadden Arps, the "Transactions" at Solar Millennium is to shed light and wants to legally assess, solve the case.
At the Annual General Meeting, Supervisory defended Kuhn and his two colleagues. He, Kuhn did, actually made the futures trade, but only to later sell the shares to continue Claassen. They should be part of the remuneration of Claassen. So you wanted to bind him more closely to the company. But it was not to come.
Too many unanswered questions
A supervisory board, the shares in a big way before the announcement of an important company news bought to sell them in a private business after the future president of the company?
Utz Claassen did deny the Kuhn-version on request. "Mr. Claassen had no knowledge of this equity business," said his lawyer Frank Silinger. "If Mr. Claassen would have learned that, he would never be with Solar Millennium signed a service contract." And, further: "Insider trading shares from a potential Mr. Claassen would have taken before."
Too many unanswered questions, find critical shareholders. You are at the end of their patience with Solar Millennium. Jochen Knoesel, head of the Association for Enhancing Shareholder Democracy contended that at the AGM, a special audit of the Cause Claassen. At the end he was denied a vote on it. Well, the AGM is a legal injury. Knoesel has filed a declaratory action in the Nuremberg district court. The goal: to let the illegality of this procedure determined by a court.
Claassen and Solar Millennium in turn meet on 9 September before the district court. Then will be the first time about the millions of complaints dealt with which the manager and the AG have each other covered. It could be a mud fight dirty with a lot of laundry. The court needs to clarify why the ex-husband at EnBW manageable medium-sized (73.2 million euros in fiscal 2009/2010) threw for only 74 days. As a signing bonus took Claassen with nine million euros.
German industrial to make power plant Andasol 3
Stadtwerke München, RWE Innogy, RheinEnergie, Ferrostaal and Solar Millennium have inaugurated in late September, the solar thermal power plant Andasol 3 in Andalusia. So with the third power plant is the largest solar energy site in Europe has emerged. "For me, the power plant model for the whole of Europe," said Dr. Hans Bunting, CFO of RWE Innogy, while Joachim Ludwig, Chief Operating Officer of Ferrostaal AG, at the inauguration ceremony by speaking of a "great market potential for solar thermal power plants."
Dr. Kurt Muhlhauser, CEO of Stadtwerke München, created a reference to the great topic of energy systems: Andasol 3 is the best example that we need to implement the energy policy at European level, Muhlhauser. Similar sentiments were expressed by Dr. Dieter Steinkamp RheinEnergie: With 3 Andsol RheinEnergie have invested in a production technique that could be developed in addition to the wind and water power for the European energy supply to a major supply components.
With the construction of Andasol 3 center was started in 2008. In July 2011, the participating CleanTech companies reported a successful Tesphase (see clean thinking: Andasol 3: Successful testing of solar thermal power plant). The project are particularly Stadtwerke München, RWE Innogy, RheinEnergie, Ferrostaal and Solar Millennium involved. To realize the company had a project company Marquesado Solar SL was founded. AFFIRM and Isofoton provide solar energy to electric cars
AFFIRM ENERGY and Isofoton are participating actively in the development of future battery charging stations for electric cars, which will be disseminated in Spain in a relatively short time. The project endorsed by INNPACTO research program that being developed in association with ADIF as main shareholder. Ferrolineras work using the energy generated by braking of the train and pulled the post from their power lines, made up of photovoltaic modules.
The clear benefit of the project is the location of Ferrolineras near the railway tracks, which usually coincides with the routes of major roads, thus being able to guarantee delivery anywhere in the country. The Ferrolineras, as well as Fotolineras, will be covered by canopies on which you will install the solar modules with an intelligent tracker will maximize system performance. The panels are based on technology that Isofoton has developed in its 30 years of activity. By contrast, the pursuers will be designed specifically for this project and the novelty is that fit into the shelter. The energy generated will serve as a support system to supply the fast charge current and align the path of the Spanish rail system.
This project is totally new and already adapting to the needs of foreign markets, in light of the interest that was manifested by the authorities of the AFFIRM GROUP in the different countries and the possibilities it offers to be replicated in other parts of the country.

The largest solar bridge in the world will be ready in 2012
On the banks of the River Thames, the work began on the installation of 4,400 solar panels on the roof of Blackfriars station, located on the homonymous Victorian bridge across the river in London since 1886. The project is part of the Thameslink building program provides for the solarization of the station, closed since march 2009 for work that will make it a gem eco-friendly. The total area of photovoltaic modules will be 6,000 square meters, and will allow an annual production of electricity of about 900 000 kWh. According to the calculations of the designers, it will reduce carbon dioxide emissions about 511 tons per year.
But the goal of manufacturers is more ambitious. They want to reduce emissions per passenger by 25% by 2020. The investment of 7.3 million pounds (8.4 million euro) provided for eco-makeover station provides in addition to the panels, the installation of solar chimneys that allow access to the sun's rays inside structure, favoring the natural light and also the location of a plant for the recovery of rainwater. The project will lead to the halving of the electricity needs of the station. "The bridge to the Victorian station Blackfriars station is part of English history," said Lindsay Vamplew, project manager for Network Rails. "It was built when the trains were steam with solar technology and restructuring will make him a symbol of our city."
The plant will be the largest solar power in London, and make the station more environmentally friendly and sustainable in Britain. For now, there is another solar bridge in the world,is in Australia, Brisbane Kurilpa catwalk. In the beginning of the year, about 16,000 panels were installed on the Belgian rail tunnel and it would produce enough energy to power all the trains in the country.
Italy will present Emilia 2 to race in 2011 World Solar Challenge
Solar car today is increasingly becoming an option for consumers as environmentally friendly cars that using green energy. Named Emilia 2 the only solar car that was made in Maranello, Italy, will race in 2011 Australia's World Solar Challenge that will start from 16 to 23 October. Solar thermal power plants in Spain
Both parabolic and Fresnel collectors focus sunlight directly incident on linear absorber in which a liquid is heated. But what if you had rather focus all rays at a single point? This is precisely the principle of solar tower power plants.
If you drive on the motorway from Seville to Cordoba, could believe half way to have a vision. Surrounded by fields of sunflowers stands there, a 140 meter high tower, which glows brightly gleaming. Gemasolar, that means that so far the world's largest solar power tower in Fuentes de Andalucia. In May, the first electricity fed into the grid. Power Plant Director Santiago Arias from Torresol Energy companies currently monitors the transition into regular operations.
"The solar field at the foot of the tower consists of 2500 heliostats, each with 110 square meters of mirror surface. 300 000 square meters of mirrors to focus sunlight on the steeple."
The heliostats are distributed concentrically around the tower. Its huge mirror resting on massive pillars.
"Every 20 seconds, small motors to correct the alignment of the mirrors at a fraction of a degree. This precision is necessary because the extreme levels are almost a kilometer away from the tower."
"Up there it is hot as hell. To transport the heat, we derive molten salt by thousands thin absorber tubes. The heated salt is stored in large tanks in order to steam for a turbine to generate electricity. And then, when he used is - even if seems not the sun. "
The 16 meter high tower absorber ring at the tip consists of special heat-resistant pipes. The focus of the mirror they are about 700 degrees hot, and shine so brightly that have pilots who flew dozens of kilometers away, was wondering. The salt melt, the cooled tubes, consists of potassium and sodium nitrate - and in exactly the same mixture as in the heat storage of the parabolic trough power plants. But the Solar Tower, the salt is heated much more strongly - to 565 degrees.
A heat exchanger at the foot of the tower to 550 degrees hotter steam is generated at 100 bar: Optimal conditions for the 20-megawatt turbine from Siemens, which runs in the machine hall.
"Our key advantage is that we operate at higher temperatures than other solar thermal power plants and the higher the temperature, the more efficiently can be heat into electricity - are the laws of thermodynamics We can also use more efficiently by the high temperatures and our salt storage.. . We are 8000 tons of molten salt and thus can stash enough heat for 15 hours at full load have. "
The power tower is as good as base load - an important consideration for utilities. 110 gigawatt hours per year to produce Gemasolar, enough for 25,000 households. According to the first service experience could be even more in there. Santiago Arias is therefore convinced that the solar towers are the future.
"This is the first solar tower power plant of this magnitude. But I think soon there will be dozens of them. Other companies are waiting in the wings. We, of Torresol Energy, have plans for much larger power plants in Spain, Abu Dhabi and the U.S. ".
Even for Solar Millennium, which has specialized in parabolic trough German rivals, you have got the charm of the tower technology and explores the potential of currently.

City car with electric power from solar energy
Stromos Electric cars |
With a "Stromos", an environmentally friendly electric car with 76 horsepower and five-door, the employees can now move around the city of Schwabach works. The electric car is now the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer Klinger Winfried Ernst Hofer passed.
On Saturday 1 October will be given away on the regional market, free test drives.
The car rented by the utility of impleaPlus GmbH, a subsidiary of the N-Ergie corporation. Their managing director Thomas Fösel personally handed over the car in Schwabach. The Stromos accommodates four people and has an output of 56 kW. Top speed of the small car powered by electricity is 120 kilometers per hour.
"We are the Stromos use for business trips," said Winfried Klinger. "The vehicle is loaded with the public utilities exclusively by green electricity, which is made from 100 percent renewable energy. We also have three power stations in the city. "You are at the station, at the Martin-Luther-Platz and in front of the municipal utility in the Ansbacher Strasse. Five to six hours takes a load operation, the range is 120 kilometers.
