4.000 solar lanterns for Japan's tsunami victims


Panasonic Group to share the suffering of the Japan's earthquake and tsunami victims to provide assistance around 4,000 of solar-powered LED lantern which partially equipped with USB output for charging the cell phone. Assistance is provided in Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures.


Assistance in the form of green energy for survivors in the worst areas affected by the earthquake and tsunami are expected to provide a small amount of electrical energy needs especially to provide the light and small devices charger. The company also expects its to soon be able to recover all the circumstances for victims and the places affected by the disaster.

Almost all the victims of the earthquake and tsunami lost of all their possessions, so they really need help. The device solar LED lanterns will add comfort for the disaster victims who had previously been received ShelterBox aid kit that includes everything from stoves to water purifiers.

  1. A good gesture from Panasonic. Such initiatives should be taken more often not just in Japan but throughout the world.
    I have been using a solar lamp bought from NIMH Technolinks and it has been serving me well since i bought it. Solar lamp is a device that should be made available to one and all so that everyone can enjoy a radiant light free of cost.

  2. Kudos to Panasonic. Such efforts are highly required in order to spread the awareness of eco friendly and energy saving solar lamps. let others be inspired by this effort.
    In Indid there are a few companies such as NIMH Technolinks, Sunlite, D.light, etc which manufacture solar lamps and make them available to people at affordable prices. I hope that Panasonic take such initiative in India as well.

    In India there are a handful of companies such as NIMH Technolinks, Sunlite, D.light, etc that are into manufacturing solar lanterns and making them available to people at affordable rates. It would be wonderful if you could spread your efforts in India as well.
