The International Academy of Astronautics in Paris, released a study this week that says that it will be possible to install
solar panels in orbit to power is sent directly to Earth within 30 years.
The survey data are encouraging because they indicate a way to generate electricity without causing too much environmental impact, since the sun is a great renewable energy source.
Even
solar power is an old technology, the conversion into electricity is not an efficient enough to replace the common and most polluting sources. According to the study proposal, within the capacity to generate energy is much higher.
The project suggests that several satellites are fitted with huge solar panels, which in turn would be gradually sent to Earth orbit. Thus it formed a global system of power generation, able to provide electricity 24 hours a day with great efficiency.
For the plan to succeed and be sent to the energy consumption in the Earth would be passed on in the form of raiolaser or huge microwave antennas.
